Seabee Wounded in Action Scholarship

SMSA stands along side our wounded Seabees and their families throughout the recovery process.

 

Our Seabee Wounded in Action Scholarship provides scholarship support to eligible Post 9/11 Seabee and CEC children of Purple Heart recipients, ensuring that these children have the opportunity to attend college, community college or vocation/technical intuitions.  

Eligibility

Scholarships are awarded for accredited two and four-year college degrees programs.  We do not provide graduate school scholarships or scholarships for part-time programs.

 

Scholarship awards may only be used tuition, books and/or academic-related fees.  Scholarships are renewable for up to four-years provided recipient meets academic requirements.

 

Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

 

  • Applicants must be the child of Seabees or Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers wounded since 9/11.

    • Seabees are enlisted personnel with a Seabee rating, CEC officers, or others who have served or are serving in a Naval Construction Force Unit.  This includes members of other service branches assigned to a Seabee unit.  Active duty, reserve, retired and honorably discharged Seabee children and grandchildren are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants must currently be a senior in high school or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.​

Applications and required supporting materials must be postmarked by April 15.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Be sure to check the box on page one, section seven as a Purple Heart Recipient.
