Seabee Memorial Scholarship infoRMATION
Scholarships are awarded for accredited four-year bachelor's degrees, two-year associates degrees or Career & Technical Education (CTE) degrees (12-18 month career and technical education programs). We do not provide scholarships for graduate school, part-time programs or great-grandchildren.

​Scholarship awards may be used for tuition, books and academic-related fees. Scholarships are renewable for up to four-years provided recipient meets academic requirements.

Scholarships are awarded to the children and grandchildren of a Seabee or Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) Officer:

Eligible sponsors are enlisted personnel with a Seabee rating, CEC officers, or others who have served or are serving in a Naval Construction Force Unit. This includes members of other service branches assigned to a Seabee unit. Active duty, reserve, retired and honorably discharged Seabee children and grandchildren are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Applications accepted January 2-April 15 each year.

Applications must be completed and submitted online. Mailed in applications will not be accepted.

Verification of Sponsor’s eligibility as Seabee, CEC officer, or service with a Seabee unit. Acceptable official documents include DD-214, discharge or reenlistment certificates or current active duty orders.

Seabee Memorial Scholarships Offered by the Navy Seabee Foundation:
Four Year Renewable Scholarships
These scholarships provide annual grants for each year of a four-year baccalaureate degree at any accredited college or university.

Two Year Renewable Scholarships
These scholarships provide annual grants for each year of a two-year associate degree program at any accredited two-year institution, including community college.
​
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarships
These scholarships provide one-time grants for 12 to 18-month programs in any career or technical education program.

Seabee Wounded in Action Scholarships
These scholarships are for children or grandchildren of Seabees who were wounded in action and received a Purple Heart. These scholarships can be four-year, two-year or CTE depending on the student’s field of study.

Fallen Seabee Scholarship
These scholarships are reserved for the children of Seabees killed in action. These scholarships can be four-year, two-year or CTE depending on the student’s field of study.

What selection criteria are used to select recipients?
Scholarship selections are made on the basis of leadership, good citizenship, character, financial need, and scholastic record​.
What are the Seabee/CEC Sponsor requirements for applicants?
To apply for a scholarship, students must be children, step-children, grandchildren and/or step-grandchildren of any officer or enlisted member who serve or have served with the Naval Construction Force (Seabees) or the Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC).
Are step-children eligible to apply?
Yes! Step-children and/or step-grandchildren may be required to provide additional documentation to show proof of relationship to their qualifying military parent (typically a tax document or a marriage certificate).
Can I still apply for the Seabee Memorial Scholarship if I’m receiving VA and/or GI Bill benefits?
Yes! Our scholarship can be used in addition to any other benefits you may be receiving.
Do I need to submit a transcript?
Yes, an official unweighted transcript is required. If your school does not print the unweighted GPA on the transcript, a letter from your school counselor stating the unweighted GPA is required. Applications submitted without an unweighted GPA will be disqualified.

When is the Deadline?
Scholarship deadline is April 15th each year. Applications must be completed online, with all supporting documents, no later than 11:59 pm (PDT) on this date.
