The SW3 Eric Knott scholarship was funded by the Washington DC Seabee DC Golf Tournament. SW3 Knott was killed in action on September 4th, 2004. According to his family, “Eric had a big heart and accepted people for who they were. He enjoyed singing in the high school show choir and helping build sets for the school’s musicals. His racing career started with Hot Wheels on the driveway to working on race cars where he and his siblings won pit crew of the year. Then he went on to racing the sprint car at a county fair which was a big highlight for him. He also was a very proud owner of his Camaro. Whether it was neighbors, teachers, classmates that needed help, Eric was there. His goal in life was to make people smile and he is still doing that with this scholarship.”
