The purpose of the 2022 Jackie Adams Mosher Scholarship, established by CDR Thomas Mosher, CEC, USN, Ret, is to honor the remarkable life of his wife for 65 years.  Jackie was the second born of triplets in 1933 in Garden City, KS.  They lived with an older sister and their parents in a modest 2-bedroom/one bath home in a converted sunroom.  Times were lean.  Her Mom dressed them alike, making all their dresses until they made their own money in college.  During the war, the triplets were famous for entertaining at the local air base with their music routines, while dressed up in army (Jackie), navy, and marine outfits. A family friend obtained work-study scholarships for the triplets, and they began their studies in the two-year program at Colorado Women’s College. They finished their bachelor’s degrees at Denver University, paying their own way and earning BS Business degrees, uncommon for women at the time.  She held procurement jobs most of her working life, making the most of every opportunity that came her way and eagerly taking on new challenges. Navy tours included USS Epperson (DDE-719) in Pearl Harbor and Public Works at MCAS Iwakuni Japan and Subic Bay PI. Charge to Recipients: work hard, go to class, take some 8 am classes, enjoy college, and make wise choices.
