The CM2 E. Wes Crocker and Darlene E. Brewer scholarship was funded in 2025 by Wes Crocker in memory Darlene Brewer. Wes Crocker served as a US Navy Seabee in Vietnam, reaching the rank of Second-Class Petty Officer. Crocker attended the University of Texas where he studied engineering. After college, he became a successful jeweler and jewelry manufacturer. Darleen was a Realtor and Building Manager.
Wes and Darlene come from a time when funds were not available to average middle-class people for higher education. Their hard work and investments provided them with the means to fund this scholarship. As professionals, they decided to help provide an opportunity for a child or grandchild of another Seabee to succeed in college or trade schools that they might not have the opportunity to otherwise attend.
Endowed Scholarships allow our investors to build a lasting legacy, impacting Seabee children and grandchildren for generations to come. Endowed Scholarships often honor or memorialize family members, Seabee leaders, NAVFAC units, organizations or corporations. Perpetual Named scholarships can be funded at three levels, $60,000, $120,000 and $150,000 and are named by the donor.
