CDR Russell A. Mazzeo Scholarship
Established in 2011 by a gift from CDR Mazzeo’s Estate. Russell Mazzeo was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and Syracuse University. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves and acted as a Naval Recruiter for several years, and he also did interviews with prospective naval academy candidates. He was a research scientist at Uniroyal, until retiring in 2002. His research brought him 2 original patents. CDR Mazzeo passed away in 2010.

Endowed Scholarships allow our investors to build a lasting legacy, impacting Seabee children and grandchildren for generations to come. Endowed Scholarships often honor or memorialize family members, Seabee leaders, NAVFAC units, organizations or corporations. Perpetual Named scholarships can be funded at three levels, $60,000, $120,000 and $150,000 and are named by the donor.
