CAPT Larry Smith Scholarship
Established in 2014 by the Northeast Seabee Golf Committee to honor CAPT Larry Smith. CAPT Smith was one of the founders of the annual Northeast Seabee Golf tournament and a volunteer for over 20 years. CAPT Smith passed away in 2019.
After high school Larry joined the US Marine Corps and served 4 years. He then went to Rochester Institute of Technology to obtain his Civil Engineering degree. He joined the US Naval Reserve in 1981 and retired as a Captain in 2007. During his 29 years of service to our country, he was involved in the Vietnam War, the Bosnia Conflict, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served in the Pentagon for a time and traveled the world in service to his country.

Endowed Scholarships allow our investors to build a lasting legacy, impacting Seabee children and grandchildren for generations to come. Endowed Scholarships often honor or memorialize family members, Seabee leaders, NAVFAC units, organizations or corporations. Perpetual Named scholarships can be funded at three levels, $60,000, $120,000 and $150,000 and are named by the donor.
