Salary: $123,432.00 - $146,112.00 Annually
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage consultant and construction contracts in compliance with Washington state procurement laws.
Coordinate with other project managers, other local utilities and regional service providers to understand utility system conflicts, long-range plans, and customer impacts.
- Draft changes to local ordinances to keep the Tukwila Municipal Code current with respect to utility connection charges, system expansion requests, and development regulations.
- Provide technical expertise to oversee the system planning, design, and construction of repair and replacement projects for stormwater collection, conveyance, and water quality treatment systems.
- Provide technical expertise to oversee the system planning, design, and construction of repair and replacement projects for the City’s drinking water distribution system.
- Provide technical expertise to oversee the system planning, design, and construction of repair and replacement projects for the City’s sanitary sewer collection system.
- Stay abreast of technological advances and regulatory requirements affecting the utilities industry.
- Coordinate with other divisions and departments regarding utility coordination and infrastructure standards development.
- Contribute to utility rate setting by providing input to the 6-year Capital Investment Program, understanding operations and maintenance costs, regulatory requirements, economic forecasts, and other factors driving utility rates.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements (Position requirements at entry):
- An ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in construction management, environmental science, engineering, or a related field; and
- Five years of project management experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential elements of the job.
A valid driver's license is required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) within the State of Washington or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months
