Description

  • THE WORK:
    You’ll develop a standardized cost reporting framework for reviewing and validating Colocation Developers’ base building construction costs, preparing estimate evaluation reports based on ROM, Schematic, or Construction pricing.
  • You’ll review and validate project scope against predefined demarcation matrices, highlighting deviations, cost impacts, and assumptions or exclusions from developers, AEs, GCs, and Clients.
  • You’ll develop reports aligned with Clients’ Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) categories and provide summaries of Site & Shell / Increment 0 / Increment 1-N construction phasing.
  • You’ll analyze developer data center construction costs against market intelligence and parametric benchmarks, factoring in Value Engineering cost options for Client consideration.
  • You’ll review developer security costs against Client benchmarks and capture all supporting assumptions and exclusions.
  • You’ll track design changes between estimate revisions, reporting on cost and schedule impacts.
  • You’ll coordinate with in-house commodity teams to leverage current market intelligence for accurate cost evaluations.
  • You’ll liaise with Client stakeholders and partner teams, including Energy Location Services (ELS), Central Estimating, and others to align on estimating and program costs.
  • You’ll prepare and provide high-level ROM estimates to support program planning, annual capex planning, and pipeline projects.
  • You’ll develop cost modeling tools to generate high-level estimates, improve benchmark capture, and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Remote: This role allows for remote work for the majority of your work hours.

Requirements

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of cost management or estimating experience
  • Data Center and Commercial experience
  • Experience as a Cost Manager/Estimator with large-scale infrastructure projects

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Proficiency in CostX, Bluebeam, Excel, and Accubid software
  • Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends (Sustainability)
  • Experience estimating Electrical in both MV and Low voltage (480v / 277v, 120 / 208)
    Familiarity with estimating Fire Alarm, Security, EPMS, Telecom, Fiber
    2+ years of on-site field experience
  • Industrial experience (Food & Beverage, Laboratories, Waste Water Treatment Plants, Manufacturing, Agriculture)
    Conceptual and hard roll estimating skills
  • Ability to provide value engineering options
  • Experience working alongside CSA and Mechanical estimators to provide one combined estimate for the client
