Description

What You Will Do

  • Performs grinding and weld test upon preparation for the inspection
  • Performs carbon arc
  • Frequently calculates welding actions using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in standard units.
  • Performs a wide variety of welding functions
  • Working Conditions– Construction setting, travel required, full time. Must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit. Must have the ability to withstand confined spaces and or/extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others. Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Demonstrates the ability to successfully complete the following weld tests: 1” thick carbon steel plate with backing in the 3G and 4 G positions. Must be able to complete all weld tests in accordance with the appropriate WPS under limited supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills. Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation. High standard of integrity and professionalism.

Education / Experience – Minimum high school diploma/GED and ability to pass welding test procedures.  Experience with Stick, Mig, and Flux Core welding required.

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: – 3G and 4G Welding certification required. (Should be able to submit certifications upon request and obtain a medical clearance before deployment) Current clearance, or the ability to obtain, a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required. U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance required.
