Final Salute

Larry Joe Mendenhall, 76, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 in Fort Smith. He was born on July 31, 1946 to J.W. and Betty (Womack) Mendenhall. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served as a Seabee inVietnam. Larry retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves.

A memorial service is 10:00AM, Friday, October 7, 2022 at Ocker-Putman FuneralHome in Fort Smith with burial with honors to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. The family will visit with friends 5-7PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Paulette of the home; a daughter, Sharla Whitson (Ray) of Ft. Smith; a son, Will Mendenhall (Starla) of Ft. Smith; three sisters, Elizabeth Arndt and Kay Mendenhall of Alma, AR and Frances Sharp of Barling, AR; three brothers, Randy Mendenhall of Mountainburg, Perry Mendenhall of Roland, OK and Jim Mendenhall of Bidville, AR; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
