Bernard F. Brehm, Jr. Obituary
Bernard F. Brehm Jr age 92, formerly from Shoreham, N.Y. passed away on April 15, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of Rosemary E. Brehm, loving father of Sally Della Speranza, Jack Brehm and Susan Rose and cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was a proud Navy WW II Veteran who was assigned to a Destroyer Escort (DE-195) during World War II and stayed in the Naval Reserve for 32 years as a Seabee rising to the rank of Master Chief (E-9). He was one of the first Americans to occupy Japan after the signing of the treaty, September 2, 1945. He worked as an electrician at Brookhaven National Laboratory and retired to Florida with his wife of sixty six years.
He will be deeply missed by his entire family and the many friends he made during his life and career. No services are planned in New York. He will be cremated here in Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, Fl on June 6, 2018 at 11:30 AM.
