Thomas “Tom” Valadez, 89, died Oct. 31, 2020 in Pratt. He was born March 7, 1931 in Norwich,
Kansas the son of Gabriel & Maria (Alvarez) Valadez.
A longtime resident of the Kingman community, he was retired from The Boeing Company after
39 years, but was never known to truly be “retired” as he continued to be active day in and day
out. One of the more notable tasks that kept him moving was his local lawn mowing business.
He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the local Knights of Columbus; K of C
Fourth Degree Assembly; past Boy Scout Troop 740 leader and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy
Seabee Construction Battalion (1951-55).
On May 24, 1958, he married Gloria Gonzales in Hutchinson. Other survivors include: sons
Larry, Tom with wife Melinda; daughters Jeanette, Diane with husband Scott, Jacquie with
husband David, Janelle with husband Tim and Jennifer with husband Steven; brother A. Ernest
and sister Mary with husband James. Also included are 13 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren.
Parish rosary will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 and Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m.,
Monday, Nov. 9 – both at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman.
Parish rosary & Mass will each be live streamed via YouTube on the Fr. Andrew Walsh channel.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School and local Knights of Columbus Council
