SSgt. Dennis Isidor Vega (U.S. Army-Retired), 76, of West Haven, UT was called to meet his beloved daughter, Linda, in heaven on January 22, 2025. Dennis was born in East Carbon, UT on November 10, 1948, to Isidor and Connie (Consuela) Vega. He attended school in East Carbon before moving to Ogden, where he graduated from Bonneville High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving in Vietnam and later as a Seabee. His dedication to service continued with the U.S. Army Reserves until his retirement in 2008 after 27 years of service. On July 6, 1974, Dennis married Gloria Renz and they were happily married for over 50 years raising three children together. He graduated from Weber State College in June of 1981 with a degree in logistics and went on to work at Hill Air Force Base in a hazardous materials warehouse from which he retired in 2002, he worked for a government contractor until 2005. Dennis was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping whenever possible. He was deeply involved in the local community as he volunteered with the Parks and Recreation in Clearfield as well as coaching Jr. Jazz Basketball for his sons. Dennis was preceded in death by both his parents, brother Robert, sister Marlene, and daughter Linda, and is survived by his wife and two sons Matt (Chelsie) and Marcus (Courtney), son-in-law Miland Palmer, 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Haven on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:00 am with military honors to follow graveside at Washington Heights Memorial in Ogden. A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary in Roy on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 5:00 -7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Michael J.
