Final Salute

SSgt Carlos Vega, 63, passed away peacefully with Malaine by his side on January 19, 2021 at SAMMC Hospital, where his military years of service were recognized with a “Walk of Honor.”

Carlos is survived by his wife Malaine, his children Kristine, Carlos Jr., Lauren, Lindsey, and Valerie. He has numerous grandchildren and a great-grandson – all of whom he loved very much.

SSgt Vega dedicated 33 years to his country. He served in the Marine Corps, the Navy, and retired from the Texas Army National Guard. While serving he deployed to Honduras, Kuwait, and Iraq.

A private burial service with Military Honors is scheduled for Friday, February 12th at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
