Final Salute

Dennis Eugene Doherty, 76, formerly of Randolph and Charlestown, passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2024.

Dennis served his country with pride as a Navy Seabee in Vietnam. He returned home and onto a distinguished career as a Boston police officer, where he faithfully served the city for nearly 30 years.

Dennis will be remembered for his commitment to duty, paired with his unwavering devotion to his family and his faith. He loved his country, his car, being a resident handyman, sharing service-related stories, Disney, and animals.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Pat [Hogan], cherished daughter, Lauren (Jason Whitworth), and his siblings Barbara McIsaac, Jean Prince (Edward) and John E. (Candice).

Dennis is predeceased by his parents, John F. and Edna B. [Lannon].

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday November 6, 2024 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Thursday November 7, 2024 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Bernadette Church, Randolph, at 10 AM. Burial shall be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis’ name supporting the MSPCA or The Wounded Warrior Project.
