Final Salute

James Clement Samberg, a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, passed away February 2, 2026 at the age of 84.

The son of Charles Clement Samberg and Clara Rose Saylor Samberg grew up in Toledo Ohio. He was born in June 1941 and attended Macomber High School graduating in 1959.

A month later he joined the US Navy serving 4 years. Three of those years were on the USS Oriskany CVA-34 – Westpac. He obtained a Rank of E5.

He then served 16 years in Naval Reserves – Seabee Naval Construction Battalion #26 Mt Clemens, Michigan.

James Samberg is preceded in death by his parents Charles Clement Samberg and Clara Samberg, his wife Jean Marie Samberg and their daughter Judith Ann Samberg. He is survived by his Son, Jeffery Alan (Catherine) Samberg, Grandchildren Katie and Jake Samberg, Great Grandchild Raegan and Sister-in-law Elaine Sotko.

Services will be private and have been entrusted with David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, Toledo.
