Earl Denver Taylor Jr., 75, of Salem Twp., and formerly of Moscow, died Friday morning at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. His wife is the former Janet Lavetta Weller.
Born April 18, 1945 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Pastor Earl Denver Sr. and Mary Zaffino Taylor.
Earl was a United States Navy veteran and retiree with 28 years of active and reserve service, obtaining the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jeanne Marie Antidormi and husband, Joseph of Jefferson Twp., Christopher M. Taylor and wife, Amy of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jennifer Lea Stout of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren, Nicole Kucker and husband, Corey, Jonathan Stout, Rachel Antidormi, Morgan Stout, Aubry Taylor, Sarah Stout, Joseph Antidormi, Louis Antidormi, and Michael Stout; one great-grandson, Callen Kucker; two sisters, Elaine Vass of Taylor, and Linda Kay Lovelace of Dunmore; two brothers, Ralph Taylor of Scranton, and Ray Taylor of Forest City; and nieces, and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Taylor in 1967, and his son, Earl D. Taylor III in 1979. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Taylor.
Funeral services, visitation, and military honors will be conducted privately in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home of Scranton. Interment and committal prayers will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
