Final Salute

Jack H. Baldwin, 90, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Jack was born in 1927 to William and Ollie Baldwin here in Guilford County. He proudly served in the military two different times during World War II, first with the Army Air Corps and secondly with the US Navy Seabees serving with CBD 1058 and 53rd N.C.B.

After the military and beginning in 1946, he worked as a railway contractor, grading contractor, and trucking contractor.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Baldwin and his brothers and sisters, Pauline, Ruth, Inez, Ray, Clay, Rebecca, and Billy.

He is survived by his son, Mike Baldwin; grandsons, James (Lori) Baldwin and William (Courtney) Baldwin; four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that cherished him deeply.
