Eugene A. Tremblay
February 3, 1926 – July 18, 2022

Salem & Peabody – Eugene A. Tremblay, 96 years of age, passed peacefully on July 18, 2022.
Beloved husband to the late Frances (Silveria) Tremblay of Salem MA; son to the late Eugene and Alice (Ouellette) Tremblay of Salem, MA; and loving brother to the late Ida A. (Marcinkowski) Tremblay of Reading MA.
Eugene enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 while attending Salem High School. Immediately after his graduation, he served from 1944-1946 as a member of the 14th U.S. Naval Seabee Battalion attaining the rank of Seaman First Class. Eugene fought bravely throughout the Pacific Campaign of World War II ultimately participating in the invasion of Okinawa which took place on April 1, 1945. Eugene was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, The American Theatre Medal, and Asiatic Pacific Medal (1) Star for his courage under fire and service.
After his discharge from the Navy, Eugene attended Burdett Business College, Lynn MA on the G.I. bill, graduating in 1948. After his college graduation, Eugene was employed for many years by Harrison Dispatch, Lynn, MA and Deerskin Trading Post, Peabody, MA.
Eugene is survived by his son Rich Tremblay and his wife, Rosemary (Petrola) Tremblay, of Haverhill, MA, and two grandchildren that he was extremely proud of and loved very much, Christopher Tremblay and Gina Tremblay both of Haverhill, MA.
