He spent several years stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi. While in the Navy, he served in several deployments where he was a critical member of each mission. After retiring honorably from the Navy, Martin enjoyed his second career as a truck driver.
After his second retirement, Martin again took to the roads with his travel trailer. He enjoyed visiting many people and places, including several National Parks and the places his fellow Seabees called home. Martin was an avid traveler, camper, and fisherman, and spent his childhood and early adulthood hunting with his father, friends, and family.
Services will be held at the VA National Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas, and will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able make a kind donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in Martin’s honor.
