Woodbury- Wright Leon Jimmo Jr, 80, of Woodbury, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on November the 5th 2024.
Wright was born on May 4th 1944 to Wright Leon Jimmo Sr. & Alice Elizabeth Jimmo (Gilmore) in Montpelier, Vermont. After Wright graduated from Watertown High School, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy as a proud Member of the Sea Bees.
Following his time in the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a Lineman for Northeast Utilities (formerly Connecticut Light & Power).
In 1963, Wright met Judith Ann Coddington at the Woodbury Bowling Alley. Wright and Judi went on to have 3 children, Jeffery Clark Jimmo, Michelle Robbin Jimmo, and Amanda Elizabeth Coppola (Jimmo).
Wright was a man with many passions including farming, mentoring young people as a skilled line man, or sharing his vast knowledge of all things farming, and, of course, his love for tractors. Throughout his retirement, he participated each year in the Connecticut Tractor Pulling Circuit, always going for the “Full Pull”.
Wright was predeceased by his loving wife Judith A. Jimmo(Coddington), his parents Wright Sr & Alice E Jimmo (Gilmore), his brother Charles Jimmo, and his sister Judith Brault (Jimmo).
He is survived by his children, Jeffery C. Jimmo of Woodbury, Michelle R. Jimmo of Woodbury, Amanda E. Coppola (Jimmo), husband Michael A. Coppola and their 2 children of Naugatuck. He is also survived by his brothers Donald Jimmo of Woodbury, Todd Jimmo of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury. A memorial service will begin at 3:00pm, followed by full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Navy Sea Bee foundation Seabees.org.
