BOND, William J. In loving memory of William J. (Bill) Bond, 73, left this earth on September 16, 2001 to begin his new life in Heaven with our Father, Jesus Christ. Bill was born in Marin County, CA, son of Fred and Pansy (Barnes) Bond. He served in the Navy during WWII where he was in the SeaBees (Construction Battalion). He moved with his family in 1959 to Santa Rosa and was there until 1979. He worked as a Carpenter by trade for Bergstrom Door Co., and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Santa Rosa. With seven children raised, he and his wife, Ruth, moved up to Graeagle, CA in 1979. They built a log cabin from the trees on the land and lived there for 11 years without a phone, electricity or running water where it then earned the name ’Bondsville’, then they moved to Oregon in 1990. Bill spent many hours in his prized wood shop where he enjoyed making anything Ruth “would dream up”. They were a good team. One of the many things Bill enjoyed making were small scale construction trucks out of wood. They also enjoyed remodeling older homes and taking long walks together. His family was his pride and joy. He always was there to love, protect, teach and guide them. Always a good example, Bill was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Bill left a legacy of laughter, love by example and integrity with his wife, Ruth, of fifty years and his seven children. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth Bond, sons Larry Bond of Santa Rosa, Tom Bond of Oregon, daughters Kathy Wilson of Nevada, Penny Pollock of Cool, CA, Connie Sypriano of Rohnert Park, CA, Margie Wayt of Santa Rosa, CA, and Amy Hebert of Washington, Sister and Brother-in-law, Shirley and Harry Cordall of Palm Springs, CA. Also twelve grandchildren and one and a-half great grandchildren. No services will be held. For donations, please give to the National Kidney Foundation.
