Date of birth 03/19/1945
Date of passing 12/28/2024

William J. Lenahan, Jr., of Randolph, known affectionately as Bill to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, after a courageous battle. Born on March 19, 1945, in Boston, Bill was a man whose warmth and generosity touched all corners of his community. The son of the late William Lenahan, Sr. and Agnes (Marshall) Lenahan, Bill carried forward the values of family and hard work that were instilled in him from a young age. After graduating from Randolph High School in 1963, Bill enlisted in the United States NAVY SeaBees, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War.
Bill was the beloved husband of Barbara (Jablonski) Lenahan, and together they shared a life full of joy and companionship.
A dedicated father, Bill’s legacy lives on through his children: William J. Lenahan, III and his wife Jennifer of Pembroke, Erin McFarland and her husband David of Raynham, Ryan Lenahan of Randolph, and his step-son Mark Duffy and his fiancée Mae Akel of Abington. His role as a cherished Papa to Bridget, Declan, and Brayden was one he embraced with every ounce of his being. Bill also maintained a close relationship with his former wife, Donna Marie Lenahan of Raynham, who is also among the family he leaves behind.
Bill’s professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a commitment to service. For 18 years, he was a dependable employee at UPS, after which he transitioned to become the Property Supervisor of York Properties in Randolph. It was a role he held for 30 years until his well-deserved retirement. His dedication to his work was matched only by his dedication to his community.
An avid golfer and dog lover, Bill’s interests were as varied as they were passionate. He found solace in the weekends spent on Cape Cod, water skiing, and taking pride in the meticulous care of his lawn, which was the envy of his neighborhood. His membership in the Randolph ELKS, the Randolph Lions Club, and the Braintree Gun Club were testament to his love of fellowship and community service. Bill also served as a Town Meeting Member and was on the Conservation Committee for the Town of Randolph, roles in which he was deeply respected and valued.
Bill’s love for sports was well-known, with a particular fondness for the N.E. Patriots and Boston College teams. To be in his presence during a game was to experience true fan dedication. Yet, above all, it was the time spent with his family and friends that Bill cherished the most. His loving, kind, and generous nature made every moment with him memorable and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
As we remember Bill, we carry forward the light of his spirit. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support have been a guiding force in the lives of many. He was a man who built a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
William J. Lenahan, Jr. will be profoundly missed, yet his influence will persist in the countless lives he touched.
