January 30, 1948 – January 23, 2024
William “Bill” Maynard Putnam, 75, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 30, 1948 in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Helen Runion Putnam. Mr. Putnam was a veteran serving in the US Navy, having served at Seabee. He will always be remembered as a hard worker. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dawn Torbert Putnam; daughter, Tamera Felcoski and husband, Daniel, Jr.; grandson, Daniel Felcoski III; sisters, Darlyne Catletti and husband, Clyde, Robin Miller and husband, Mark; sisters-in-law, Gay Oswalt and husband, Gene, Sandy Hudson and husband, Brian; brother-in-law, Wayne Torbert and wife, Helga; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2 at Salisbury National Cemetery. A Memorial service will be following at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor Luke Connor. The family will be receiving friends following the service.
