Final Salute

William “Bill” Anderson, 98, of Baxter, MN peacefully passed away at Carefree Living in Brainerd, MN on September 12, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held on September 24, 2023, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, with military honors presented at 1:45pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be at a later date at Gethesame Catholic Cemetery in New Hope, MN.

Bill was born to Leonard and Hannah (Jungquist) Anderson on May 16, 1925, in Minneapolis, MN. Following High School, Bill enlisted in the United State Navy. After his discharge, he worked for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk.

Bill was a proud US Navy Seabee. He fought his way across the Pacific Ocean in World War II. He enjoyed the outdoors, country music, and was always up for a good joke. He had a ‘knack’ for remembering old radio jingles and song lyrics from decades ago.

He is survived by his son Steven (Anne) Anderson, four grandchildren Marnna, Lauren, Nicki, and AJ, and two great grandchildren Evan and Avy.

Bill is now reunited with wife, Caroline. He is also preceded in death by daughter JoAnne (Archie) Hartje.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
