Walter ‘Walt’ John Luke Bee, 94, of Superior, died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
He was born on August 16, 1925 in Superior, the son of Walter and Victoria (Wozniak) Bee.
Walter and Dolores Waltenburg were united in marriage on July 24, 1954 in Superior.
He served honorably with the United States Navy Seabees.
Walt worked for Bob and Walt’s Carpet Cleaning, Superior Fruit Co., Twin Ports Grocery, Gateway, and retired from truck driving at Fleming.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
Walt enjoyed dancing, bowling, veteran activities, horseshoes, puzzles, his Miller High Life beer, playing basketball with Bud Grant in his high school days, and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores in 2009; son, Bradley John Bee in 1956; brothers, Frank and Chet; and sisters, Rose, Mary, and Alice.
Walt is survived by his children, Linda (Michael Okash) Barton of Superior, Denny (Margie) Bee of Superior, Tracy (Marilyn) Bee of St. Louis Park, MN, and Polly (Patrick) Doolittle of Superior; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Bee of Duluth; special niece, Christine Levenduski of Duluth; and several nieces and nephews.
