Walter Donald Finch, 88, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation in Cassville.
He was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Butler, the son of Warren and Nellie (Kerns) Finch. On Sept. 15, 1956, in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to Vida Johnson, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Warren Finch and his wife Nina of Garfield, Ark.; one daughter, Carmen Finch of Cassville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; all of his siblings and one son, Steve Finch.
He grew up in Utah and California. After school he joined the U.S. Navy Seabees and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a master carpenter and worked in many forms of construction. In 2004 they moved to Cassville from central Arkansas and Cassville immediately became their home. He and Vida were happily married for sixty-five years. Woodworking was a favorite pastime and he was an early American History buff.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Garfield, Ark., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Lowell Sartin will conduct the services.
