Walter Charles Plitt, Sr., 93, of Catonsville, formerly of Glen Burnie, passed away on November 20, 2024. Walt was born in Baltimore to the late Ada and Walter Plitt. He served during the Korean War as a Navy Seabee. Walt worked as a repairman for the C&P Telephone Company, retiring after 31 years of service. After retirement, Walt went on to be a part time driver for Singleton Funeral Home for over 20 years. He was a longtime member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Glen Burnie Elks No. 2266. Walt was an avid softball pitcher until the age of 86. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted wife of 63 years, Carolyn Kelly Plitt; and loving daughter, Donna Lynn Plitt. Walt is survived by his loving son, Walter Charles Plitt Jr. (Chuck) and his wife, Pat; cherished grandchildren, Colleen Erin Maciolek and her husband, Lucas, and Daniel Charles Plitt and his wife, Nicki. Walt also is survived by his beloved great-grandchildren, Brynn Marie Maciolek, Claire Elizabeth Maciolek, Ian Charles Plitt, and Riley Thomas Plitt. Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W.,(at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. A private interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
