Vincent “Chip” Figliola Obituary
Vincent “Chip” Figliola, formerly of Harrison, NY, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 90.
Chip was born on July 18, 1935, to Salvatore and Anna Figliola. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy as a Seabee and was honorably discharged in 1965. He later dedicated many years of service as a professional firefighter for the Town of Harrison, a role that reflected his deep sense of duty, courage, and commitment to his community.
A talented carpenter by trade, Chip had a rare gift for building things that lasted – homes, furniture, and memories. He built with his hands and his heart, and there was little he couldn’t fix or create. Outside of work, he found great joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life: tending to his expansive vegetable garden, cooking hearty meals for his family, and spending time outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, Chip felt most at peace surrounded by nature, where his patience, skill, and quiet wisdom shone through.
Above all else, Chip was a family man. He loved nothing more than gathering his family around the table, especially for breakfast (his favorite meal of the day), cooking generously and making sure no one ever left hungry. His love was shown through action – through meals prepared, projects built, and time freely given.
Chip is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved grandson, Brandon Bonistall, who predeceased him. Their bond was deep, and it brings comfort to our family to know they are together again.
He is the devoted husband of JoAnn (Santacroce) Figliola, whose marriage has lasted 66 years, and a loving father to his two cherished daughters, JoAnn Bonistall and her husband Alan, and Christine Fraioli and her husband Scott. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to AJ Bonistall (Jackie) and Christina Fraioli, and a doting great-grandfather to AJ, Ava, and Anthony, who brought him immense joy. Chip was predeceased by his beloved younger brother, Michael Figliola. He is also survived by his dear little sister, Angela (Figliola) Badolato, and her husband Steve Badolato, along with his loving niece Cindy Badolato and nephew Stephen Badolato.
Chip will be remembered for his strong hands, generous heart, quiet humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the traditions he passed down, and the countless memories he created.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Chip’s honor on Wednesday, January 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Hospital at https://fund.calvaryhospital.org/ways-to-give/
