Timothy Joseph McCoy was born August 16, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Troy “Shotgun” McCoy and
Carolyn Price McCoy. He left this earth on May 17, 2025 while at home.
Tim was also known as Mac, Flash, Timmie and Ahoy McCoy by his friends and family. In his early years, Tim was a member of the Boy Scouts where he became an Eagle Scout. Tim worked at Montgomery’s Dairy and Safeway while in school. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1971. He was then drafted into the Armed Forces where he served 4 years as a Navy Seabee and continued with 4 years in the Reserves until he was honorably discharged from both. Upon discharge, he was employed by Tyson Foods where he retired after 33 years. Tim’s favorite pastime was spending time at the deer cabin with the Allard Mountain Boys. He also enjoyed gardening, macramé and spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Lyons. He is survived by his wife Peggy McCoy; sons Nathan McCoy (Heather), Todd Bewley, and Casey Roles (Jadie), daughter Terri Rutherford; Grandchildren Zeke, Nathalie, Carlee, Chloe, Bryant, Hunter (Jacey), Addyson, and Elizabeth; Great Grandchildren Brady and Everleigh; a brother Dan McCoy (Kimberly) and a sister Patty McCoy along with several nieces and nephews.
