Tildon Gene Parker, aged 76, of Navarre, Florida, passed away May 19, 2023.
Gene was born to Ruth May Tolbert and stepfather Allen Jefferson (AJ) Tolbert in 1946 in Milton, Florida. He was the middle of 5 children. He joined the Army at 18 where he served 2 years. He then joined the Navy as a Seabee where he served 12.5 years. He served in Okinawa, Diego Garcia, Germany, and bases in the United States.
Upon exiting the Navy, Gene was an auto mechanic until he retired. He earned his high school diploma after his military service in 1998. Gene met and married Grace in Holley, Florida in 1968. Gene was a lifelong member of Holley Assembly of God. He enjoyed his garden, tinkering with small engines, going to yard sales, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Grace Parker in 2011; his parents, Ruth May Tolbert and Allen Jefferson (AJ) Tolbert; his sister, Lillian Patricia Deese; brother, David Allen Tolbert; and grandson, Henry Allen Zenisek.
He is survived by his daughter, Aquilla Zenisek; his son, Timothy Parker; brothers, Cecil Tolbert and Micheal Parker; granddaughters, Aymber (Todd) Branthoover, Santana Barlow; grandson, Jacob Zenisek; great grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Caitlin, Abigail, Dylan, and Josiah; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. As well as great, great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 24,2023 at Lewis Funeral Home Navarre Chapel. 7794 Navarre Parkway Navarre, Florida 32566, with visitation from 1:00-2:00pm and service at 2:00pm. Military honors to immediately follow.
Pastor Doug Barber, Pastor Bo Senterfitt, and Reverend David L. Tolbert will be officiating.
Food and fellowship at the Holley Assembly Cafe directly afterwards. Please dress comfortably as Gene wouldn’t want anyone to be uncomfortable.

Space is limited at Barrancas National Cemetery so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or Lewis Funeral Home.
