Mr. Thomas W. Mahoney
LIBERTY — Thomas W. Mahoney, born July 4, 1945, in New London, Connecticut, passed away in Belfast Nov. 4, 2021.
Thomas moved to Liberty in 1987. Thomas was a Navy veteran and a member of the Seabees. He spent most of his life as a carpenter, but his real passion was playing pool. He spent countless hours playing locally with friends as well as traveling all over the country for tournaments.
Thomas was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Mahoney, in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Arey; his children, Dawn and Paul LeTourneau, Lenny Arey, Linette and Matt Butler, and Lee and Georgia Arey; his grandchildren, Jeffery, Miranda, LJ and Zofia Platt, Larson Platt and Kaianne Crockett; and great-grandchildren Sarella and Marzelline.
There will be a memorial service, open to the public, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m., at Riposta Funeral home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Liberty Ambulance or a local humane society of your choice are appreciated by the family.
