Thomas Price McKercher, 95, of Sioux City, IA, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at a care facility in Onawa, IA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Thomas was born October 7, 1929, in Sioux City, IA, the son of Alwin and Elsie (Pfaff) McKercher. He graduated from East High School in 1949. After graduation he worked for his father at A.P. McKercher, as a General Contractor. Thomas started his own business; T.P. McKercher in 1957 as a custom house builder.
Thomas enlisted into the United States Navy and served in the Navy Reserves Seabee unit.
On April 15, 1954, he married Gladys Marie Julif in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; they were blessed with four children. He started the Siouxland Rental Association with his wife and other landlords in 1968. Thomas served as president in 1971 and 1972. Thomas was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his son, Lance (Jane) of Omaha, NE; daughter, Gwyn (Barrie) MacArthur of Peoria, AZ; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys of 59 years; his parents; son, Monte; daughter, Gloria; son-in-law, Glen Aldag; one brother; and five sisters.
