Thomas Malynowski Jr., 77, of Keene and previously of Manchester, passed away at home on Feb. 17, 2025. Born in Hartford, Conn. on March 28, 1947, he was a son of the late Edward Thomas Malynowski Sr. and Dora (Demers) Malynowski. He shared 53 years of marriage with his companion of 56 years, Nancy (LaRiviere) Malynowski.
Tom’s youngest years were spent in Connecticut, but he was primarily raised in Manchester, where he attended St. Anthony School and later graduated from Central High School in 1965. Tom enlisted into the United States Navy as part of the Seabees in 1966 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon return to civilian life, Tom had a long career in the heating and plumbing industry, starting with working for his father’s business, Acme Engineering Inc., and later Hansen & Fox, eventually working as a project manager and estimator for Eckhardt & Johnson until his retirement.

Tom served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s Church in Auburn and was also a member of the church choir for a time. In his younger years, Tom was an avid bowler and golfer. He also had a passion for water skiing, making the most of summer days by the water on Northwood Lake. He took countless trips to Home Depot and could often be found working on projects around the house. Tom had a love for travel and enjoyed vacations with family, especially trips to Disney. Some of Tom’s fondest memories were made at his camp at Pine Acres in Raymond. Tom’s dedication to his family was at the heart of everything he did, and he found his greatest joy in sharing moments with those he loved.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy Malynowski of Keene; his sons, Michael Malynowski and his wife Susan of Salem, Marc Malynowski and his wife Rachel of Troy and Adam Malynowski and his wife Rose of Manchester; his grandchildren, Samantha, Audrey, Anna, Tyler, Kaylee, Christopher and Maria Malynowski; and an honorary grandson, Nicholas Rushton.
Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 24 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mount Calvary Cemetery’s mausoleum.
