Mr. Stanley Charles Ramoska

Date of birth 12/14/1927
Date of passing 12/10/2025

After 97 remarkable years, Stanley Charles Ramoska passed away on December 10, 2025, following a period of declining health. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stanley’s life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a genuine kindness that touched all who knew him.

Stanley was born on December 14, 1927, in Boston to the late John E. Ramoska and Theodora (Gierwatawska) Ramoska. He was the beloved brother of Jeannette, Eleanor, John, Frances, and Helen, all of whom preceded him in death.

Growing up with a strong spirit of service, and like many young men of the Greatest Generation, Stanley joined the military. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in Curaçao during World War II. It was during this time that he developed a passion for understanding how things worked, sparking a lifelong love of tinkering. He truly became a “jack of all trades.” His Navy service instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. After returning home, Stanley became a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office, a role he took great pride in, enjoying the people he met along his route. In retirement, he remained active by maintaining the bowling alleys at the Knights of Columbus in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he was a longtime member. He later worked as a security officer at Boston University. Stanley was never one to sit still for long and especially enjoyed traveling and reading.

Stanley was the devoted husband for over 42 years of the late Catherine J. Ramoska, who passed away shortly before him. He was also a devoted husband to Catherine M (Nolan) Ramoska who passed away in 1981. He is survived by his children, Donna Ramoska of Quincy, Massachusetts, and Debra Ramoska of Rockland, Massachusetts. He was also the loving stepfather of William J. Gallagher (Mary) of New Bern, North Carolina; Carrie Ann Gallagher Landgraf (Christopher) of Westfield, Massachusetts; Patricia Gallagher Connors (Dan) of Quincy, Massachusetts; and Kathleen Gallagher Robinson (Peter) of Plymouth, England. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock Street, Quincy, Massachusetts.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Resurrection of the Lord Church, 1057 Main Street, Hingham, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Fair winds and following seas, sailor. You will be dearly missed.
