Mr. Roscoe B. “Rocky” Teaford

Roscoe B. “Rocky” Teaford, age 96, of Conshohocken, PA, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2023 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Cross) Teaford. He was born in Gala, VA on July 3, 1927 and his family moved to Pennsylvania at the age of 12. He attended Conshohocken High School. He enlisted into the US Navy during WWII and became a Seabee, the Naval Construction Battalion, where he was a truck driver serving primarily in Guam. After his service to our country, he became a Steel Worker and worked for Alan Wood Steel Co., later known as Lukens Steel and Bethlehem Steel until his retirement in 1989. Rocky was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and could be found in his workshop tinkering with motors and woodworking. After his retirement he spent many hours helping his son at Teaford Auto. He was a former longtime member of Phoenixville Country Club and a life member of the Conshohocken VFW Post 1074. He was also a member of the Andrew Lannutti Italian American Veteran Post where he faithfully made his Tuesday appearance sharing stories with the guys. Rocky was the proud father of a daughter, Mary Beth O’Donnell (John) of Exton, PA, and a late son, Robert Teaford (Kathryn Smiley). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his sister, Shelby Valentine of Barto, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Betty and son Robert, he was predeceased by 11 siblings Percy, Wayne, Harry, Sarah, Cecil, Dorothy, Doris, Wanda, Barbara, Robert and Frances. Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing from 10:00-11:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rocky’s memory can be sent to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or your favorite charity.
