Final Salute

Rondal “Ron” Partin, age 79, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his home.
He was born November 11, 1943 in Saxton, KY, to the late Luther and Grace Osborne Partin.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alisha Partin; and a grandson, Dempsey Partin Ballou.
Mr. Partin served in the United States Navy from March 1962 – March 1967. He was 18 years old when he enlisted and was honorably discharged in 1967 after five years of service.
He was a proud Navy Seabee. He served in California and in France on an Admiral staff. He was honored to serve at Camp David during the Kennedy Administration as well as the Johnson administration after JFK’s assassination.
Although he was modest about his military service, his selection to serve on the staff of an Admiral as well as being posted at the Presidential retreat, Camp David is indicative of his superior performance and conduct as a United States Navy Sailor.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Partin of Williamsburg, KY; two daughters, Nicki Yarbrough of Williamsburg, KY, and Angie Ballou (Dan) of Williamsburg, KY; five grandchildren, Makayla Yarbrough, Morgan Yarbrough, Bailee Hall (Traven), Kailee Wilson (Donnie), and Chaynee Jarboe; one great-grandson, Jett Hall; four brothers, L.P. Partin (Kay) of Williamsburg, KY, Claude Partin (Pat) of Corbin, KY, Jerrol Partin (Martha) of Powell, TN, and Bruce Partin (Fay) of Williamsburg, KY; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was on Saturday, June 3 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ulys Cox and Dan Ballou officiating.
Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery Moses Addition.
The American Legion Post 88 Corbin conducted military services at the graveside.
