Ronald Sebastian Carlentine (Ron), 70, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska, to his parents Margaret (Mullink) Carlentine and Louis Sam Carlentine. Ron was the eldest of 5 children, Cynthia (Cindy), Terry, Michael (Mickey) and Louie Jr.
After receiving his GED, he joined the United States Navy (Navy-USN) in December of 1974 and was stationed at NCBC, in Port Hueneme, CA. Ron worked at the Navy Construction Battalion known as the Seabees – and was responsible for building much of the temporary and permanent infrastructure at U.S. military locations around the world. This position took him to Guam and Puerto Rico during his enlistment. Ron, a Vietnam Veteran, received an Honorable Discharge and was released from active duty in April 1978. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M-16 Rifle and Qualified M-16 Expert.
Upon his return home to Omaha, Ron owned and operated his own business, Carlentine Professional Painting, for many years. Ron was known by his customers for his friendliness, his attention to detail and doing an excellent job for a good price. His extensive industry knowledge enabled his customers to make informed decisions about the products they should use, resulting in higher quality outcomes.
Preceding him in death were his father, Louis Sam Carlentine; his mother, Margaret (Mullink) Carlentine; his sister, Terry Lee Newquist, his brothers, Michael Edward Carlentine and Louis Sam Carlentine Jr.; and nephew, Amir Joshua Asayesh.
Ron is survived by his son, Ronald Carlentine Jr, wife, Erin and his two grandsons, Kelvin and Krew of Lynnwood, WA; sister, Cynthia Asayesh of Glendale, AZ; brother-in-law, Ali Asayesh of Paradise Valley, AZ; three nieces, Shadi Asayesh of Scottsdale, AZ; Jessica Valenzuela and her partner, Stephen Lavallie; two great-nieces, Amelia Lola Lavallie and Amara Anne Lavallie, and great-nephew, Roman Lee Lavallie of Surprise, AZ; and Brianna Valenzuela and her husband, Stefan Bigboy of Boulder, CO. He is also survived by his partner, Cheryl Dellamano, and her extended family, which includes six daughters, their husbands, and fifteen grandchildren. Additionally, he leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Mia and Skye, as well as other relatives and friends.
Ron will be buried on February 26, 2025, at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, NE 68138. A Burial Celebration will be held at the gravesite on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 3:30p.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, where he will receive Military Honors (Taps, Burial flag and a Presidential Certificate) for his service in the military. A Celebration of Life will follow. Details will become available later.
Ron was very loved and celebrated for his spunk in life. He will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered.
When asked what he loved most about his life, he said— “MY LOVE FOR JESUS CHRIST AND MY FAMILY”
