Final Salute

Rodney Coy Perkins, age 77 of Clovis, NM, passed away on March 25, 2025. Rodney was born on November 24, 1947, in Portales, New Mexico to Roy Thomas Perkins and Vyleta Dawdy Perkins.
Rodney came to Clovis in 1988, he married Marietta Irene Rogers on May 2, 1970, in Portales, New Mexico. He served in the United States Navy Seabees from 1967-1970 completing a tour in Vietnam. Rodney had a bachelor’s degree in science and worked as a Soil Scientist with USDA then worked for Curry County Road Department.
Survivors include his wife; Marietta Perkins of the home, daughter; Melissa Cheri Perkins of Clovis, NM, son; Richard Colby Perkins and wife Paula Renee Perkins of Clovis, NM, very special niece; Marea Lanae Gibson of Arkansas, grandchildren; Stetson Chase Rains of Big Springs, TX, Halie Renee Perkins of Melrose, NM, and Ryan Cody Perkins of Gardiner, MT, siblings; Eldon Perkins of Mississippi, and Sue Mead of Alamogordo, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Roy and Vyleta Perkins, Brother Ricky Thomas Perkins, and grandson; Matthew Chance Rains
Cremation will take place and no service at this time.
