Robert W. Morton, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2020, at The Willows of Tiffin.
On Feb. 16, 1935, in Tiffin, he was born to Lester and Kitty Marie (Brayton) Morton, Sr. He married Lucille Jane Huth Jan. 9, 1954, in Tijuana, Mexico and she preceded him in death Dec. 29, 2010.
Survivors include four daughters, Kandy (Paul) Sammet of Sycamore, Tina (Vernon) Brown of Marblehead, Gwen (Charlie) Wiseman of Tiffin and Michelle (Timothy) Walker of Republic; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Heminger of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lester Morton, Jr.,
Robert served in the U. S. Navy Seabees from 1954 to 1956 and owned Morton Trucking Inc. and Tiffin Tire and Retread. Robert enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, traveling, boating on Lake Erie and flying model airplanes.
His service will be 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Entombment will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family Thursday at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
