Robert Patrick Corley, 80, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 17, 1943, to Cecil and Mary Jane Corley in Braddock, PA.
Robert came to California in the early 60’s after enlisting in the U.S. Navy. During his service, he
transferred to the Seabees and went to Vietnam twice.
Robert’s career included working on the oil rigs off the coast of Carpinteria, being a subsea mechanic at Vetco and working for the County of Ventura. He was known to fix anything, and his favorite tool was duct tape.
Robert enjoyed working in the yard with Karen, riding his Harley, camping at the beach, and spending time in New Cuyama. You would often find him cheering his grandkids at their active sporting events.
He was quiet in the stands, but his presence was known. He also loved talking on the phone with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen, daughter Wendy Thompson (John), grandchildren; Gabrielle, Luke (Ami) and Jack.
Robert was preceded in death by his son and best friend, Jake in 1993.
There will be a huge void with the loss of Robert. But we know he will live in our hearts forever.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 7 at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
