Final Salute

Johnson, Robert P. of Edina, age 96 passed away April 28, 2021. Born in Minneapolis, Bob attended Washburn High School and served his country as a Navy Seabee in World War II. After the war, Bob attended the University of Minnesota, where he became a member of Beta Theta Pi. Bob met the love of his life, Jean at Messiah Lutheran Church and they were married in 1953. Bob and Jean spent many glorious summers with family at their cabin in Lutsen and many winters in Dunedin FL. Bob worked in sales in the printing industry for over 40 years and was very active in his church and Boy Scouts. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Jean, parents Harold and Lil, brother William and wife Jeanne, sister Betty, brother-in-law Charles and wife Roberta, and nephew Jeff. Bob is survived by daughter Becky (Steve), Sons Randy (Supatra), Brad (Peggy), Charlie (Lisa) and grandchildren Marija (Michael), Kristina (John), Peter, Thomas, Emily, Laura, Simon, Sydney, Anuchit, Nick and Alex and great grandsons Owen and Noah; Nieces Ruth, Louise, Cyndy and nephews Carl and Stuart. Bob lived an incredible life and his family is very grateful to have been able to spend time with him before he passed away. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at Walker Care Suites and Allina Hospice Care Team (esp. Susie & Megan). We are so very grateful for the care he received. Memorials to St Stephen Lutheran or Messiah Lutheran. Private service for family and interment with military honors at Fort Snelling this summer.
