Mr. Robert “Bob” E. Conroe

Robert “Bob” E. Conroe age 94, of Erie, passed away Friday October 18th, 2024 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie, PA, October 9th, 1930, a son of the late Charles and Catherine Conroe.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War serving in the Seabee Batallion. He was employed as a supervisor in the Control Division at General Electric Company for over 28 years.
He was a founding and long-time dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Church’s Men’s Council, and a eucharistic minister. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Jesus, Mary and Joseph Council 4071 and the Archbishop John Mark Gannon Assembly. In 2010 he was named “Man of the Year” by both the O.L.M.C. Men’s Council and KofC Council 4071. Bob enjoyed search and crossword puzzles. Additionally, he belonged to the Carl Neff Post 571 and the Siebenbuerger Club.
In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Anne (Sakulich) Conroe; a daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Simmons; a brother Gerald Conroe; and two sisters, Jean King and Virginia Lazarowicz.
Survivors include 2 sons; Steve Conroe wife Karen, David Conroe wife Tammy;
daughter-in-law, Ricki Simmons; grandchildren, Eric (Kimberli) Conroe, Christopher (Brynn) Conroe, Katelyn Conroe, Steven (Meaghan) Conroe and Julia Conroe, John (Alyssa) Kowle and Ashley (Dan) Miller; great grandchildren Hailey and Harper Conroe, Taylor and Kylie Kowle.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses at St. Vincent Hospital for their care.
Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m.. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 1553 East Grandview Blvd.
