Final Salute
Mr. Robert A. Bittke
Robert A. Bittke of Merrillville, IN, passed away on October 3, 2025 peacefully in his home at age 80.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Jessica) Bittke, Edward (Michelle) Bittke, Jennifer (Thomas) Orsini; and their mother, Catherine Bittke. He was a proud Grandpa to 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with the fourth on the way. He is also survived by significant other, Carol Mendiola; and countless more special friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Bittke; and brothers, Guy Hilton and Paul Bittke.
Robert retired from a 44 year career at Southlake Mall in 2019. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was a proud Navy Seabee Vietnam Veteran and lifetime member of the VFW. He also enjoyed his time as part of the Rosemoor Fishing club and the Sportsmen Club.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 10th, 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:00 am.
