Final Salute

Ricky Allen Cagle, 60, of Parrish, died March 4, 2022, at his home.

He was born on July 6, 1961, to Wilford and Delora Cagle at People’s Hospital in Jasper.

Ricky served six years in the United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Navy Seabees, obtaining the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5.)

During his life, Ricky had many jobs but worked primarily in the fields of construction, and heavy equipment operations, along with serving for a time as the Acting Manager of the Parrish Water Works and Sewer Board.

He was an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, a diehard Alabama football fan, and music enthusiast. He dedicated many years of his life serving the Parrish community through the Park and Recreation Department in multiple ways that included serving as the Park’s Director, a coach for various baseball and football teams, and most enjoyably as an umpire.

Ricky is survived by his mother, Delora; sister, Pam Downs; his first wife, Hazel Drummond; his sons, Gregg, Jared, Ryan and Andrew Cagle; and daughter, Brooke Key-Mathis; as well as 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a whole mess of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford; his brother, Eddie; his wife, Melita Key; and his grandparents, Obito and Lena Cagle and Elizabeth Jolly.

Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Elegant Events located at 2200 Gamble Avenue in Jasper
