Richard Paul Kurtz, 51, of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
He was born in Delaware Nov. 12, 1970, and is survived by his mother, Catherine Carte.
Also surviving are his children: Calli Cole and Alicia, Brent and Courtney Kurtz; grandchildren: Emery and Madeline Cole, Caleb and Elayna Gubish, Phoebe Miller and another on the way; siblings: Timothy Carte, Ronald Kurtz, Ree Brown, Jacqueline Hamer, Michael Kurtz, Theresa Harper and Tina Dean: and former spouse Dawn Kurtz.
He was preceded by one son: Corey Paul Kurtz; and grandparents who raised him: Ronald and Gladys Kurtz.
Richard was a 1988 graduate of Tyrone Area High School.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy with the SeaBees.
He worked as a groundskeeper for the DeGol Organization.
He enjoyed gold mining and gemstones, camping, had a green thumb and enjoyed flowers and woodworking. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed playing jokes on them.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
Funeral services for Richard Paul Kurtz will be held at the convenience of the family.
