Final Salute

SHERMAN – Richard K. Fox, 83, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home.

He was born January 27, 1942, to Richard K. and Jane (Hall) Fox. He married Judith E. Weatherford on August 4, 1962, in Springfield. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Fox, Charles Michael Fox and Patrick Fox; and sister, Nancy VanDenBossche.

Richard was a United States Navy Seabee veteran. He was a Teamster truck driver for 42 years with 21 of those years with ABF Trucking. He enjoyed traveling cross-country on his motorcycle with Judy. He also enjoyed refurbishing old furniture. But most of all, he cherished his family and time spent with them.

He is survived by his children, Kelli (Brad) Fisher and Richard “Dickie” Fox; grandchildren, Aaron, Abbie (Corey), Ahabb and Jacob; great-grandchild, Annabelle and Connor; siblings, Dan Fox, Jeff (Dori) Fox, Vincent (Linda) Fox and Dorothy Coons; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. until the time of service at 11:45 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
