Mr. Richard “Dick” P. Sheridan

Richard “Dick” P. Sheridan, 89, of Linden, N.J. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9 a.m. from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke Street Linden. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth Church Linden at 10 a.m.  Visiting will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Dick was born in Jersey City, N.J. and raised in Elizabeth and Union. He married and moved to Linden in 1962 where he raised his family. He was a Union Carpenter for Local 715 in Elizabeth for 50 years before retiring.

Dick was a very proud Navy Seabee serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary church, a member of the Holy Name Society, as well as a CCD teacher. He was also involved with the retired Carpenters Club, a founding member of the Mayor’s DARE program, and a volunteer with the Linden Interfaith Network for Community Services (LINCS).
Dick was the loving husband to the late Evelyn “Babe” Prato Sheridan who passed away in 2020. He was the loving father to his 5 children and their spouses: Kathryn and Thomas Schulhafer, Frances and Teresa, Nicholas and Christine, Jacqueline and Paul Wollman, and Richard Jr. and Pamela, along with 9 grandchildren; Nicholas and wife Laura, Quinn and wife Sara, Alexandria, Jessica, Molly, Edward and wife Skylar, Casey, Camille and Henry, and 5 great grandkids: Kaylee, Hailey, Luciano, Griffin, and Liam.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated and accepted in his name by Center for Hope Hospice 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
