HAMILTON, Ill. – Philip J. Liebert, 71, of Hamilton, Illinois, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away in Galesburg, Illinois, Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at 11:53 a.m.
Philip was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stanley Herman and Viginia (Krueger) Liebert on Jan. 16, 1952.
He graduated from Hamilton High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and the University of Louisville. He served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On Aug. 11, 1990, he was united in marriage with Kennetha Rountree in Louisville, Kentucky.
Philip is survived by his wife Kennetha, of Hamilton; children, Joshua and Kristin Ash; stepdaughter, Melissa (Brian) Davis; mother Virginia Doll; grandchildren, Dru Middleton, Sabrina Nolet, and Jonathan Davis; great-grandchildren, Aijah and Asyah; one niece; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; stepdaughter Aimee Goble; great-grandson J.J.; and two brothers, David and Steve Liebert.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with military rites
